Dec 2, 2019

After eight years off the market in the United States, the Ford Ranger is back. The Ranger is now considered a mid-size truck. Before, the Ranger was the compact offering from Ford. The new mid-size offering is similar to the size of the Sport Track, and it is manufactured as either a SuperCab with a six foot bed or a SuperCrew with a five foot bed.

Models

There are three models of Ranger available. Those are the XL, the XLT and the Lariat. The XL is considered the base model of the Ranger, and the other models build upon that base by adding features. There are four appearance packages available for the Ranger depending upon the model. The XL is available with the STX and Chrome packages. The XLT and Lariat models are available with the choice of Chrome, Sport and Black appearance packages. The hallmarks of the appearance packages are grille and bumper colors, and each package includes specific accents like decals, wheel lip color, or seating upgrades. The Chrome and Black appearance packages are self-explanatory with grilles and other accents that match the color in the name of the package. The Sport package includes a black grille with magnetic surround and magnetic accents like wheel lips, bumpers and wheels. The STX package features carbon black bumpers and ebony cloth seats. The packages also feature custom tire sizes and wheel materials.

SuperCab or SuperCrew

The SuperCab seats up to four people comfortably with bucket seats in the front and a bench in the back. Under the back bench is interior storage space. In the XL model, the rear seat can be eliminated to have added cargo space rather than additional seating. The SuperCrew features four full doors and seating for up to five people. It also has under seat storage in the rear. The bed on the SuperCab is a foot longer than the bed on the SuperCrew to accommodate the added cabin room.

Accessories

Each model of the new Ford Ranger has the option of ordering additional accessories to customize the truck. Outdoor adventurers will appreciate available racks and carriers for equipment like kayaks and trail bikes. Campers can rest easy right in the bed of the truck with a pickup bed tent. Those who enjoy off-roading will appreciate the availability of off-road lights. Available protective bed liners help to protect the truck from dents and scratches caused by hauling cargo.
