Inspected and Selected

Our Kindle Certified Pre-Owned vehicles are the cream of the used car crop, so we don’t put that prestigious label on any old vehicle. To even be considered for certification, a pre-owned vehicle has to go through a detailed process to ensure that it’s up to our high standards. This includes a rigorous inspection. We go through 120 different points on our pre-owned vehicle inspection, checking carefully to make sure that the vehicle is functioning properly and safely.

Our inspection includes checking the interior and exterior of the vehicle for appearance, like stains, scratches, or dings, and condition, looking for things like wear and tear or corrosion. We also look at the underhood and underbody components to ensure that nothing is damaged, missing, or worn out, and we check the convenience features of the vehicle, like a built-in garage door opener or power seats, to see that they’re functioning properly. Any part or component of the vehicle that doesn’t measure up is replaced with a factory-authorized part. If there’s a hybrid system in the vehicle, we inspect it thoroughly, and we run diagnostics on the car and take it out for a road test to make extra sure that we know this vehicle inside and out before we label it a Kindle Certified vehicle.

History Check

You don’t truly know a vehicle until you know where it’s been before it came to you, so at Kindle Ford, knowing the history of a pre-owned car is an important part of our process. For starters, any vehicle that is over five years old and/or has more than 60,000 miles on it isn’t considered for certification at all. Once we’ve verified that, we obtain a CARFAX Vehicle History Report. This tells us all the details we need to know about a vehicle’s life before it came to us, especially any accident history that would be important for us to know. If we don’t see any issues in the inspection process or in the history report, the vehicle gets our seal of approval and becomes a Kindle Certified Pre-Owned vehicle!
