The standard engine for the 2022 Escape is a turbocharged 1.5L that delivers 180 hp, while the SEL trim has an available turbocharged 2.0L engine that delivers 250 hp. If you want to really ride the cutting edge, the Escape offers both a hybrid and plug-in hybrid version. Both run on the same 2.5L engine with an 88kW electric motor that offers 200 hp, and the plug-in hybrid version’s battery-only range can go up to 37 miles.
